Attekus Named in New $50M QIC-Brighter Super Investment Mandate

A major milestone for Queensland innovation – and for Attekus.

We’re proud to share that Attekus has been named as one of the initial investments under a new $50 million mandate between the Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) and Brighter Super, announced by the Queensland Government this week.

The mandate is part of Brighter Super’s Queensland Investment Strategy which will see an additional $500 million invested into Queensland assets in the next three to five years, on top of the $1 billion already invested in the State.

The partnership is designed to fuel the next generation of Queensland-grown technology companies with global potential – backing innovators with bold ideas across artificial intelligence, digitisation, agtech, healthtech, and frontier tech.

“It’s an honour to be recognised as part of this initiative,” said Peter Suchting, CEO of Attekus.

“This backing is a strong vote of confidence, not just in our platform, but in our people and our vision to make it easier for communities to connect with local government, government, education, and public spaces. We’re proud to be building in Queensland – and grateful to have the support of organisations who share our commitment to the state.”

Attekus is a Queensland-based software company helping local government, education, and government organisations digitise community engagement through our platform, Bookable. From venue and facility bookings to event management, registrations, and ticketing, our technology streamlines operations and improves community access and experiences.

Through our platform, Bookable, we support everything from facility and venue bookings to event management, registration, and ticketing – streamlining operations and creating better community experiences.

Queensland Treasurer David Janetzki said the deal would capture the potential next wave of successful global market leaders born and grown in Queensland.

“Together, they bring the capital and capability to support ambition, reward innovation and ensure the next generation of market leaders are born and grown right here in Queensland.”

Minister for Finance Ros Bates added, “This new mandate simply makes good financial sense – it supports members where they live, putting retirement savings to work locally and meaningfully.”

Brighter Super CEO Kate Farrar said, “We believe investing in these businesses can produce strong returns for Brighter Super’s members whilst contributing positively to Queensland’s economy and productivity.”

QIC CEO Kylie Rampa also noted, “Since 2016, QIC has invested in more than 85 local businesses, enabling exceptional founders to create over 1,300 jobs building real-world solutions within a thriving, sustainable ecosystem.”

Attekus is proud to stand alongside other pioneering Queensland businesses as we build the next generation of smart, scalable public-sector technology, right here at home.
